Writing has always been my refuge, a way to express thoughts and memories that were difficult to articulate verbally. Over time, it evolved into a powerful tool for preserving moments and experiences.
My writing journey began with the publication of two short stories: “The Boy and the Fox” and “Fly Away Hawk, Before I Catch You.” These stories allowed me to explore different genres and experiment with various storytelling techniques. However, my perfectionist nature led me to set aside two completed books that I’m not yet satisfied with. Rest assured, I’m determined to return to them and present my readers with nothing short of excellence.
One of my upcoming projects is an anthology featuring a collection of short memoirs, each written by individuals who, like me, were once part of the same cult. It’s an intimate exploration of personal experiences, shining a light on the journey from entrapment to freedom.
Additionally, I’m currently engrossed in writing my own memoir, recounting the extraordinary tale of growing up within the confines of a cult and eventually breaking free at the age of twenty-five. This deeply personal work promises to provide readers with a unique perspective on resilience and the pursuit of individuality.
Venturing into the realms of fiction, I’m crafting a mesmerizing fantasy story centered around an autistic boy with the extraordinary ability to transport himself to an island located outside our physical realm. Through this tale, I hope to captivate readers while shedding light on the beauty of differences and the power of imagination.
In the realm of high-fantasy, I’m weaving a narrative tapestry in the form of a novel set in a world called Arkaykainay. With vivid descriptions and richly developed characters, this epic tale will transport readers to a realm of untold secrets.
While my works span a variety of genres, there is a common thread that runs through them all — I strive to convey Christian themes that resonate with my own experiences and beliefs. Each project is deeply rooted in personal encounters, stories heard, and events witnessed, giving my writing an authentic and heartfelt touch.
My approach to writing has evolved over time, and currently, I find success in allowing myself to write freely without scrutinizing the quality of each word. This freedom of expression allows my creativity to flow unhindered, giving life to raw ideas that can later be refined and polished.
Surprisingly, my writing style has been influenced not by renowned authors, but by my upbringing. Growing up, I held a disdain for reading, an experience I will undoubtedly delve into in my memoir. Instead, my writing bears the imprint of my father’s influence, shaping my unique literary voice.
To aspiring writers embarking on their own journeys, my advice is simple — know your motivations. If, like me, writing is an inherent part of your sanity and self-expression, then forge ahead with passion. However, if you seek writing solely as a side hustle, be prepared for the realities and challenges that lie ahead. Writing is a labor of love that demands perseverance, dedication, and a deep connection to your craft.
Before we conclude, I encourage all of you to subscribe to my newsletter. Exciting times lie ahead as I embark on projects that are sure to create an uproar and challenge conventional thinking. Your support and engagement will mean the world to me on this thrilling expedition.
