Article 1 - Definitions
The following definitions apply in these terms and conditions:
- Consumer: a natural person whose actions are not carried out for objectives relating to the course of a trade, profession, or business.
- Day: calendar day.
- Trader: the author selling books through their webshop and other platforms.
- Contract: any agreement between the trader and the consumer concerning the purchase of books.

Article 3 - Applicability
- These general terms and conditions apply to every offer made by the trader and to every contract that has been realized between the trader and a consumer.
- Before the conclusion of a contract, the text of these general terms and conditions will be made available to the consumer.
Article 4 - The Offer
- The offer includes a clear and accurate description of the books being sold. Illustrations, if used, represent the books being offered.
- The trader is not bound by obvious errors or mistakes in the offer.
Article 5 - The Contract
- The contract is concluded when the consumer accepts the offer and fulfills the payment conditions.
- The trader will confirm receipt of the order electronically.
Article 6 - Exclusion of Right of Withdrawal
- No Right of Withdrawal: Due to the nature of the products (books), the right of withdrawal is excluded. Once the order is placed and payment is made, it cannot be canceled or refunded.
- The consumer is informed of this exclusion before completing the purchase.
Article 7 - Price and Payment
- All prices include VAT and are subject to change at the discretion of the trader.
- Payment must be made upfront through the payment service provider, Mollie.
- The consumer must report any inaccuracies in payment details immediately to the trader.
Article 8 - Delivery and Implementation
- The trader will take care in processing and delivering orders. Standard handling time is up to 5 business days, with efforts to ship on the same day when possible.
- Delivery times vary depending on the destination. For the Netherlands, delivery typically takes 1 day, while international orders, such as to Australia, may take up to one month.
- The risk of damage and/or loss of products rests upon the trader until the product is delivered to the consumer.
Article 9 - Complaints Procedure
- The trader provides a complaints procedure and will deal with complaints in accordance with this procedure.
- Complaints must be submitted promptly after the consumer discovers any shortcomings.
- A reply to complaints will be provided within 14 days.
Article 10 - Disputes
- Contracts between the trader and the consumer are subject only to Dutch law.
- The Dutch courts have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes arising from these terms and conditions or related to any contract between the trader and the consumer.
Article 11 - Copyright and Legal Safeguards
- Copyright: All content, including books and any other material provided by the trader, is protected by copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or other use of the content is prohibited.
- Notice and Takedown: If a third party believes that their rights are being infringed by content provided by the trader, they should contact the trader through the contact form with a detailed description of the alleged infringement. The trader will investigate the complaint and take appropriate action.
- Legal Safeguards: The trader is not liable for any damages, claims, or legal actions that may arise from the content of the books or other material provided, including those initiated by third parties. This includes any claims related to defamation, libel, or other content-related disputes. The trader reserves the right to defend against any such claims and to take appropriate legal action to protect their rights and interests.
Article 12 - Additional or Different Stipulations
Any additional stipulations or deviations from these terms and conditions may not disadvantage the consumer and must be recorded in writing, or in such a way that consumers can store them in an accessible manner on a durable medium.
